Dickson allocates 500 plots to new Yenagoa City project

Governor Henry Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State is set to flag-off the new Yenagoa City project with the allocation of 500 plots of land.

The flag-off would to form part of the programme of commission new set of projects executed by his administration across the state.

According to investigations, the commissioning of the projects in the Health and Education sectors and the flag-off of the new Yenagoa City Project was to puncture claims by politicians that the Dickson administration had performed woefully.

The politicians from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were said to have reported Dickson to former President Goodluck Jonathan and had reportedly written a petition to national chairman of the party, Sen. Ahmed Makarfi, calling for the sack of the state PDP executive.

A statement from the Secretary to the State Government, HRH David Serena Dokubo-Spiff, said the commissioning would further showcase the achievements of the Dickson administration.

According to him, the commissioning would take effect as soon as the Governor returns from his annual vacation abroad.

The SSG also stressed that‎ key personalities and very accomplished Nigerians will be called to perform the exercise. ‎

‎Spiff added that a number of the‎ laudable and ‎people-oriented ‎ projects completed by the Restoration Administration would be in the Health and Education sectors, while others in the area of general civil infrastructure.

He said the event would also witness the flag-off of the new Yenagoa City Project, which will involve the allocation of over 500 plots in the first phase and many more in the second phase, for the benefit of Bayelsans and other Nigerians.‎

A Government House source said those behind the petition to the PDP national secretariat wants to create a wedge between Dickson and Jonathan because of the governorship election in the state.
