The Osasu Show Symposium, convened by Osasu Igbinedion, is a forum where key stakeholders from the public and private sector gather to discuss salient issues bordering on nation building and development. Its maiden symposium held on Friday, August 25th at the International Conference Centre, Abuja with the theme “The New Economy and Its Impact on Less Privileged Citizens”.


The occasion was graced by prominent dignitaries such as the Honourable Minister of Transportation and Former Governor of Rivers State Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, Executive Governor of Abia State Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Hon. Dr. Dakuku Peterside, Former Governors of Akwa Ibom (Obong Victor Atta), Delta (James Ibori), and Edo State (Lucky Igbinedion), Senate Committee Chairman on F.C.T Senator Dino Melaye, Executive Director of Business Operations at NEXIM Bank Hon. Stella Okotete, Country Director of Amnesty International Osai Ojigho, Country Director of ONE Campaign Serah Makka, United Nations SDG program specialist, Hilary Ogbonna, amongst others.

There were three-panel discussion sessions on Business, Politics, and Development which explored:

Ending poverty and bridging the inequalities gap through infrastructure development and social protection mechanisms
The role of politics in ending poverty in Nigeria and
Balancing profit maximisation, poverty alleviation and the Nigerian business environment.
